UPDATE 19TH MAY 2010: The winners for the SC Magazine 2010 Awards have been announced here. Congratulations to all winners and finalists.

Welcome!

The Secure Computing awards presented by AusCERT were again organised to recognise the professionals, organisations and products that daily repulsed threats confronted by Australians.

Our expert judging panel of Australian security experts honoured outstanding work by their peers in the trenches, the innovations happening in the vendor and service provider communities and excellence from governments, businesses and charities.

This was the second year we ran the Australian awards based on those in Europe and the US now in its 13th year. We were very proud to run these awards in the lead up to the AusCERT2010 Conference, Australia’s premier event for the IT security community, now in its 8th year, where the awards were presented at a gala dinner hosted by Melbourne comedian Jimeoin.

Last year, we saw the demand for IT security, risk management and trust services explode even while the rest of the economy was in a tailspin this past year. It was because a healthy information infrastructure was so vital to Australia’s economic health and its national security that we honoured those who daily patrolled our electronic borders.

Please join with me in congratulating the winners of these awards, those who made a difference in the past year.

Sincerely,

Nate Cochrane
